In the face of relentless pressure from aggressive American and Japanese investment institutions, the fate of Tuftons, a British bank with a rich two-century history, hangs in the balance. Leading the bank is Sir Charles Bunbury, a well-meaning but inept chairman. As the threat of a takeover looms large, Sir Charles must summon all his wits to defend Tuftons and secure its survival. Will he be able to navigate the treacherous waters of the financial world and rescue the bank from certain ruin?
